Mo'ne Davis Named Sports Illustrated's 'Sports Kid Of The Year' For Throwing Like A Girl

Meet The 'Sports Kid Of The Year'

Thanks to Mo'ne Davis, future athletes will be aspiring to "throw like a girl."

Davis, the 13-year-old pitcher who was the breakout star at the 2014 Little League World Series, was named Sports Illustrated Kids' "Sports Kid Of The Year" for 2014. She rose to national fame while helping Philadelphia's Taney Dragons make a deep run in the tournament. Armed with a 70-mph fastball, Davis became the first girl in the 75-year history of the event to pitch a shutout and earned a spot on the cover of Sports Illustrated in August.
